00:00:00.400 --> 00:00:04.843
Let's see how easy it is to change my legally recognised name

00:00:04.843 --> 00:00:08.622
for free with FreeDeedPoll.org.uk.

00:00:08.640 --> 00:00:12.769
First, I need to run through a checklist: see
that I've got everything that I need.

00:00:12.769 --> 00:00:16.663
Next,  I'm ready to fill out a form to create my deed poll,

00:00:16.663 --> 00:00:22.217
providing my old name, new name,  address,
and the details of my witnesses.

00:00:22.217 --> 00:00:25.703
Now, I'm ready to print out my deed poll....

00:00:29.232 --> 00:00:33.029
...sign it twice: once with my old name,
once with my new name.

00:00:33.029 --> 00:00:35.790
And have both of my witnesses sign it, too.

00:00:38.159 --> 00:00:41.459
All I have to do next is send off my deed poll

00:00:41.459 --> 00:00:44.169
to all of the organisations that need to know my name:

00:00:44.169 --> 00:00:49.173
Passport Office, DVLA, bank,
wherever I'm employed or studying....

00:00:49.970 --> 00:00:54.057
That's all it takes to change your legal name
as a British citizen,

00:00:54.057 --> 00:00:57.276
thanks to FreeDeedPoll.org.uk.
