To me that looks like more like the "mound of pillows" school of decoration.
For some reason some hotels think that makes it more cozy or something.
As a guest I am just annoyed having to first clear space for simply sleeping. And where do I even put the stupid things?
If staying longer and they make the bed it all comes back and I start over.
